There are two forms of the material being: essence and phenomenon. We grasp essence by reason and phenomenon by sense. As object of recognition, essence is broad, and perception is relatively narrow. As center of dialectical materialism, matter is broad and can only be grasped by reason. Therefore, dialectical materialism is reasonable philosophy .The scope of practical materialism is relatively narrow, and belongs to sensible philosophy. The noumenon of reason is about the origin of things and is more important than the noumenon of sense. The later, as the starting point of perception, however, is indispensable. Any disconnection between sense and reason will lead to idealism. In this sense,Marxist philosophy is the combination of dialectical practical materialism and the historical practical materialism.
