    Function value and ethical value are the two fundamental value patterns in human history.Their conflict and collision indicate that the development of human society is always through the antimony of his tory and morality. The collision between function value and ethical value in the new century mainly mani fests between morality priority and benefit priority, efficiency priori y and social justice, development and stability, ecconomic rationality and socical retionality, ecconomic life special ization and socical life diversity. Our task is to select the correct value pattern when conflict arises, combine value analysis with historical analysis so as to real ize the unity between morality and history,scientifically define the scope of function value and ethics value so as to combine into one the truth and the goodness in the contradiction, and pay equal attention to scientific rationality and moral rationality so as to bridge the gap between science and humanity.

    The compound economic way of crop cultivation and animal husbandry was the traditional lifestyle of the ople in the southwestern mountainous areas of our country.Many minority nationalities such as Yi,Tujia, Miao, Gelo,and even Han and Bouyei, once stuck to this life style, and some of them still cling to it to day. Research on this lifestyle, however, is not adequate and historical record is incomplete. This paper tries to probe into this particular lifestyle through interpretation of some geographical names in the Yi language so as to reveal its typical characteristics.

    The  Jian an vigor and style was accepted by later literary critics as the mains tream and the typical creative pattern of the poems of the Middle Ancient Times. Since the development of Jian an literaturewas a diachronic course, and the situation of individual writers in different periods was quite different ,we should not separate ourselves from the specific history when we try to understand and interpret those creat ive patterns. Cao Zhi has always been regarded as a valuable literay image. If we consider this belief of later writers in Cao Zhi as an important cultural phe-nomenon,we may find that Cao Zhi’s works, especially his later literary activities, didn’ t manifest in terms of flowery language or exquisite forms, but marked the establ ishment of the creative patterns and the lifestyle of literary men.
