    The anti-tradition feature of “Cultural Revolution” (1968—1978) is known to all.However,there are various arguments about it.By comparing Confucian ideology with that of “Cultural Revolution”,this paper argues that they are internally associated,that “Cultural Revolution” seemed to be anti-tradition,though,it was the largest-scaled practice of Confucian ideology in modern times.

    This paper analyzes the origin and purpose of morality.It contains the following arguments:morality,like law,is a kind of evil,a necessary evil;virtue,like morality,is also a kind of necessary evil;the origin and purpose of morality is not self-disciplined,it is the special and direct origin,purpose,and criterion of morality that brings benefit to non-human existence,while human benefit is brought by the ultimate origin,purpose,and criterion of it.On the one hand,when human benefit is in coincidence with that of non-human existence,the special,direct purpose and criterion of morality should be followed,on the hand,when conflicts occur between them,we should follow the ultimate purpose and criterion of it to protect human benefit.

    In the legal profession,no enough attention has been paid to the phenomenon of recessive law-breaking by rural children staying at home and far away from their working parents elsewhere.Characterized by property-robbery,blindness,violence,and derivation,and often accidental and mixed with other law-breaking behaviors,recessive law-breaking is mainly caused by such factors as rural social environment,family,and education problems.To deal with this phenomenon,ethic measures should be taken to make up the lost love for the children so as to prevent it from happening.

    After the peaceful “Gaitu Guiliu” (a policy of appointing local administrators in the minority areas in the Qing Dynasty) in Xiangxi in the fifth year of Emperor Yongzheng,the native inhabitants,whether they belonged to Tusi (local official of Tujia nationality) families or immigrants,started to recompose their families in order to prove their legality and legitimacy.Through methodology of anthropology,this paper,taking a case study of the Xiang’s family (surname),and with the reference of folk family tree,illustrates how family tree was recorded in folk literature,showing the family history in Xiangxi after Tusi system was demolished.

    Appellations in Mencius are marked with rich cultural meaning and deep national characteristics.Because of the differences between Chinese and English culture and language,the translation of appellations in Mencius is of great difficulty.The English version of Mencius in the Library of Chinese Classics is the latest authority in China,however,many of the translated appellations in the Library do not comply with functional equivalence theory proposed by Nida,and their interpersonal function is almost lost in translation and even being reconstructed unequally.
