Abstract: As a male poet,Walt Whitman’s poems are of very clear sex characteristics,and Leaves of Grass has called forth a manly temperament of unique charm.The spirit of an unyielding man,the intricacies of the strong,unconventional and uninhibited wildness and the wondrous and sonorous forcefulness,all these that are expressed in Whitman’s poems of free verse are important characteristics of manly temperament.
