Change,Structure and Discourse:the Macroscopic Explanatory Perspective of Mass Disturbances

Abstract: As China carried out the policy of reform and opening-up and market economy since the late of1970s,great changes have taken place in China,such as profound transformation of economic system,deep going alteration  of social structure,great adjustment of interest configuration and radical change of people’s ideas.Small changes have taken place in the structure of state and society,and the pattern of strong state and weak society have not changed a lot,therefore social organizations have not played an significant role in social governance.Because of damage to their interests,the vulnerable groups have gradually developed a psychology of unfairness and relative deprivation,which have become the mainstream discourse of bearing hatred towards officials,the rich and inequality.Great social changes,the pattern of strong state and weak society,and the formation of discourse of hatred towards officials,the rich and inequality have constituted the political and social factors of the mass disturbances that frequently take place in temporary China.
