“Qing Se Yan ”——ShenCong-wen’s rewriting of Buddhist stories in the 1940s

Abstract: “Qing Se Yan” was written in 1946.It described Prince Junaluo’s story in the Buddhist books “Fa Yuan Zhu Lin”.As Other essays in the “Qi Se Yan”,“Qing Se Yan” also appears obscure and hard to understand. The style is called “abstract lyric”.The purpose of this paper is to compare the essay with the collected works《Yue Xia Xiao Jing》in the rewriting of Buddhist stories and analyze the causes of the special style “abstract lyric” in the 1940s.
