Abstract:

As the cultural dimension of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era,Xi Jinping Thought on Culture embodies profound dialectical logic and philosophical depth.It constitutes a seminal theoretical innovation and experiential synthesis by Xi Jinping,general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee,concerning cultural development in the new era.The dialectical logic inherent in this thought manifests through six interconnected and unified dyads:"substance" and "function","ancient" and "contemporary","foundation" and "innovation","roots" and "soul","Party" and "people",and "current trends" and "underlying forces".Applying Chinese philosophical wisdom to contemporary cultural development,Xi Jinping Thought on Culture demonstrates the dialectical unity of "substance" and "function".By exploring the congruence between China's fine traditional culture and scientific socialism,it reveals the dialectical unity of "ancient" and "contemporary".Through continuously advancing the adaptation of Marxist cultural theory to the Chinese context and the needs of our times,it exemplifies the dialectical unity of "foundation" and "innovation".In achieving new ideological emancipation through "the second integration"—integrating Marxism with China's fine traditional culture—on the new journey in the new era,it embodies the dialectical unity of "roots" and "soul".By consistently upholding the mass viewpoint and mass line in cultural development,it manifests the dialectical unity of "Party" and "people".Through fostering in-depth civilizational exchanges and mutual learning by grounding cultural endeavors in China's cultural subjectivity,it illustrates the dialectical unity of "current trends" and "underlying forces".Comprehending this six-dimensional dialectical logic is essential for advancing this second integration,strengthening cultural subjectivity,and cultivating a dynamic cultural entity from a new historical vantage point.
