Abstract: In a complex society of multiple value orientation,people’s understanding about the nature,function and value of university is changing and alienating.In his famous book,Philosophy of Higher Education,Professor Zhang Chuting systematically develops a view of indigenous higher education from the perspective of humanism to solve many realistic problems.He illustrates the origin of university and discusses the unique features of university,pointing a way for the free development of university.
