Abstract: Are two basic categories of Marxist philosophy.Traditionally,we used to emphasize the decisive role of necessity,maintaining that rules must be followed.The accelerating or postponing faction of contingency was neglected and even put in a minor position of dialectical materialism.In fact,with a better understanding to rules,the function of contingency is getting more and more obvious.Based on this reflection,this paper tries to explore contingency from a new angle by analyzing its historical position,bridging function,characteristics,types as well as the proper attitude to treat it.It will provide reference for further study of Marxist philosophy.
