Abstract: We still face the same problems that our ancestors faced——problems of survival. We are still absolutely and finally dependent on the nature of this world in that we are still part of nature and our dependence on nature cannot be lessened by our technology nor can that technology ensure our survival. That will depend on one factor only——our success or failure in making man live in peace, showing goodwill to each other and harmonizing the relationship between man and nature. Therefore, social and cultural values are relevant to the study of sustainable developments.

Key words: reflection, social and cultural values, sustainable developments, nature
