Abstract: Cultural populism is a deep expression of social populism,which undermines the important social functions of respecting authenticity,nurturing personality,pursuing sublimity and building consensuson the basis of the legitimacy of people's discourse.Essentially a false ideology divorced from the social reality,it implies the rejection of the harmonious symbiosis of multiculturalism under the guidance of socialist core values.The irrationality,parochialism and extremes of cultural populism affect the openness,inclusiveness,persistence and stability of the harmonious development of society.In-depth criticism of cultural populism is an important task of the current ideological construction,and it is necessary to adhere to the ideological guidance of socialist core values.From the aspects of adhering to the people's purpose of cultural development,defining the constructive orientation of cultural criticism,and cultivating the dominant concept of cultural identity,we should get rid of the interference of wrong social thoughts such as cultural populism,and clarify cultural development in the new era.
