Abstract: Starting from an analysis of the similarities and differences brtween old and new liguistic schools,this article gives a full discussion on the changes of Xiangxi local dialect in pronunciation,vocabulary and grmmar,with the conclusion that closing to the common Chinese language is its trend of developent.
