20世纪前期我国高等教育关于科学与人文关系的探讨

On the Opinions about Relationship Between Sciences and Humanities in the Higher Education During the First Half of 20th Century

摘要:中国高等教育虽然在进入20世纪后才真正开始发展,但它迅速突破了此前儒家经学在教育内容中的垄断地位,不仅使科学教育从无到有、从小到大,稳步发展,而且从救国救民的愿望出发,赋予人文教育以新的内涵。这一时期的人文教育特别注重爱国情感和救国意志的培养,主张人格独立,提倡人的自由,维护人的权利,力争培养出具有“完全人格”的人才;科学教育则从注重自然科学技术逐步发展到注重包括人文、社会和自然科学知识在内的“通识”教育。科学教育与人文教育协调发展的观念基本形成,重技术轻理论、重理轻文现象并不十分突出。

Abstract: The early 20th century was the key time when Chinese education broke through the monopoly of Confucian sutra and began to pay equal attention to science and humanity education.During that time,science education had been developing steadily while humanity education kept on playing the leading role in the higher education.Some educationalists had come to realize that higher education must harmonize the relation between science education and humanity education and that neither science education nor humanity education can bring up versatile students.
