“兴”与“象”:从《诗经》到《周易》

Xing and Xiang:From the Book of Songs to the Book of Changes

摘要:“兴”是《诗经》的灵魂,“象”是《周易》的内核。“兴”反映的是上古先民认识世界、跟世界打交道的根本方式,“象”标志着主体自觉的意义生成机制。从《诗经》到《周易》体现的是“兴”思维到“象”思维的发展。“兴”思维中现象和意义的生起是无性的,而“象”思维中现象和意义的生起是有性的。“兴”与“象”有着“体感”与“观思”的不同。“兴”并非凌驾于“象”之上。“兴”有其缺陷,即主体蒙昧性;“象”有其优点,即主体自觉性。中国哲学中的“功夫论”是对“兴”的超越性复归。

Abstract: Xing is the soul of the Book of Songs,and Xiang is the root of the Book of Changes.While Xing reflects our ancient ancestors’ basic approach to knowing and dealing with the world,Xiang marks the meaning generation mechanism of subjective consciousness.The development from the Book of Songs to the Book of Changes reflects the thinking mode transition from Xing to Xiang.In the Xing thinking,meaning is detached from a phenomenon;while in Xiang thinking,meaning is derivative of a phenomenon observed.There exists the difference of sensual experience and mental processing between Xing and Xiang.For its defect of subjective disenlightenment,Xing is not regarded superior to Xiang.On the other hand,Xiang seems more advantageous for its subjective consciousness.In a sense,the ontology of Chinese philosophy is a transcendent return to Xing.
