Abstract: The traditional forestry running way of the Dong people in the Qingshui River Valley has a long history.Its operat ion is qui te dif ferent from the modern forestry running made.Through an analysis of the di fferences betweenthe two forest ry running modes, this paper comes to the discovery tha t the t radi t ional forestry running way of the Dong people, like thei r other cul tural facts, is governed by the logic of thei r unique culture, that as long as this cul tural logic
continues to exist, there will be no fundament change in their fores try running, despite al l influences of outside fac tors,and that the nature of the Dong people
s tradi tional way of running forest lies in thei r outlook in nature, balance and harmony. Based on this discovery, this paper makes bold to propose that to find out the logic of a given cultural fact,one should make an al- l round inves t igat ion into the logic connec t ion between various elements of that particular culture.
