Abstract: The increasing autonomy and complexity of technology have brought the issue of technology trust to the forefront.Technology trust refers to the subjective confidence of stakeholders in achieving desired goals through technical means.From the theoretical perspective of risk society and by examining both trust and technology,this study traces the essence of technology trust and reveals its intrinsic relationship with risk.Technology trust inherently involves risk factors that not only shape risk standards but also facilitate risk complicity and give rise to new forms of authority.At the same time,debates persist regarding whether trust should be placed in technology or humans,as both are subject to uncertainty and potential failure.Despite awareness of the existential risks associated with technological dependence,individuals continue to place trust in technology due to their innate pursuit of freedom.Furthermore,as technologies grow increasingly sophisticated,opaque,and difficult to comprehend,the challenges of risk prevention and control intensify,while human capabilities remain limited—thus heightening reliance on technological trust to manage uncertainties.Therefore,it is essential to accurately understand the interplay between technological trust and risk.In the context of a risk society,a comprehensive mechanism for technological trust should be built,focusing on value guidance,technological ethics,accountability frameworks,risk prevention,and talent development.This approach must uphold the core principle of people-centered technological development,embed ethical mechanisms throughout the design-to-application lifecycle of technology,dynamically monitor technological evolution to anticipate,address,and assign responsibility for vulnerabilities,coordinate multi-stakeholder efforts to prevent both sudden and cumulative risks,and cultivate high-quality professionals who integrate moral integrity with technical competence—thereby guiding technology toward the good and safeguarding human existence and freedom.
