Abstract: Christian theological aesthetics in middle age began with an idea of “beauty is the name of God”.It revealed the relationship between beauty, truth, and goodness;between love, faith, and hope;between understanding, will and feeling. It also described the spiritual process from appreciation of creation to contemplation on God through the discussion of some elementary doctrines, such as trinity, creation, incarnation, salvation and eternal life and so on.It not only reflected the aesthetic ideal in middle age,but also epitomized the universal aesthetic experience of all ages.
