Abstract: In his work Foundation of the Metaphysics of Morals,Kant tries hard to provide the evidence that morality is probable to exist so as to acquire reasonable basis for the study. In his opinion, the theory of sensibility, which was put forward by Hume, goads morals to experience, thus it illustrates morals through empiricism. On the other hand,Kant has made adjustment to traditional rationalism ethics.Based on transcendentalism,he describes the foundation and principle of morality. In addition,Kant makes good effort to solve the problem between moral consciousness and moral practice, that is,the conflicts existed between empiricism and transcendentalism in morality. It is of great importance for our study in ethics how Kant demonstrated the problems in morality and the way he solved them.

Key words: empiricism, transcendentalism, sensibility, transcendental deduction
