Abstract: Japanese environmental ethic thought came into being while environmental pollution produced social effect.It has gone through four stages and now is in mature period.Its theses touch upon five aspects.There are five Japanese environmental ethical thinkers such as Ikeda Daisaku,etc.This article tries to evaluate Japanese environmental ethic thought from the perspective of its relationship with the Japanese traditional culture, and by comparing it with Western environmetal ethic thought.There are five tendencies in the development of Japanese environmental ethic thought.
