Abstract: The striking feature ofpolitical philosophy of the Frankfurt School prior to Habermas is that through technical criticism，cultural criticism，and consumption criticism，it reveals the general domination of capitalist society，showing that individuals are increasingly swallowed by the general society，pursuing individual liberty being the theme of their political philosophy.After Habermas，political philosophy of the Frankfurt School turned more to criticism of political ethics，which reflects the changes in modern Western society as well as the tremendous influence of modern Western political philosophy.Gradually，it gets away from historical materialism.
