目的论视阈下的汉语传媒新词英译策略

摘要:运用弗米尔的翻译目的论理论,对汉语传媒新词的英译问题进行研究。结果表明:与传统翻译相比,传媒新词英译在遵循一般翻译原则的基础上更加强调以外国受众容易接受的方式清晰准确地表达新词的实际内涵,从而达到良好的传播效果。传媒新词英译的具体策略包括直译、意译、补译、释译、回译和注解。这些策略不仅能使译者达到准确翻译汉语传媒新词的目的,同时亦呈现出较高的科学性和可行性。

Abstract: Based on the functional translation theories by Vermeer,this thesis probes into the applications of skopos theory in the translation of Chinese media neologisms,maintaining that attention should be paid to the features of journalistic English,and that translators should make the translation more readable and readily understandable besides accurate rendition of meaning.The strategy in translating media neologisms includes literal translation,free translation,addition,interpretative translation,back-translation and annotation.These strategies are effective in the translation of media neologisms and they are helpful to the translators.
