Abstract: The"second integration" — integrating the basic tenets of Marxism with China's fine traditional culture — is a major theoretical proposition for adapting Marxism to the Chinese context and the needs of the times.Its generative logic unfolds as a dynamic evolutionary process shifting from value resonance to fusion of horizons.The value resonance between the basic tenets of Marxism and China's fine traditional culture lies in their intrinsic spiritual echo regarding ultimate value pursuits and fundamental value orientations.Their complementary relationship delivers two-way empowerment:Marxism furnishes a scientific worldview and methodology for social transformation,while China's fine traditional culture supplies indigenous discourse systems and normative ethical resources rooted in Chinese social practice.From three specific analytical dimensions,the two intellectual systems foster philosophical dialogue between materialist dialectics and the notion of "harmony between humanity and nature" on cosmology and practical outlooks,establish normative correspondence between ideal societal pursuit and indigenous governance wisdom on social and political outlooks,and attain theoretical convergence between collectivist social ethics and personal moral cultivation on moral and personality outlooks,which collectively constitute multi-layered,logically structured value correlation.Essentially,the "second integration" denotes an in-depth hermeneutic process of fusion of horizons.It rejects both superficial conceptual analogy and unilateral ideological replacement.Instead,it advances the creative transformation and innovative development of China's fine traditional culture,achieves organic unity between adapting Marxism to the Chinese context and modernizing China's fine traditional culture,and ultimately fosters a brand-new cultural organism and a new form of human civilization.
