Abstract: The traditional funeral culture of the Miao ethnic group in Xiangxi (Western Hunan) is deeply embedded in the social life of the Miao residents,and it has become an integral part of Xiangxi regional culture.This paper explores into the traditional funeral culture of the Miao ethnic group in Xiangxi,sorting out its ritual process,inspecting its cultural content,and revealing its cultural connotation.At the same time,the paper excavates the ecological value of the Miao funeral culture in respecting nature and maintaining ecological security from a modern perspective,hoping to promote and inherit Xiangxi regional culture,enhance the understanding of the concept of life and death,improve the social value of social relations integration,carry forward the culture of filial piety,build up the historical value of cultural self-confidence.
