摘要：土司学与土司制度、土司文化既有联系，又有明显区别。土司学是以土司制度推行运作的历史为背景，进而研究与之相关内容的一门专学。一个研究领域能否称“学”，取决于内在因素和外在条件。土司研究的对象具有重要性、独特性、广博性和现实性，说明其本身是具备称“学”基础的。土司研究的状况，无论是研究的历程，还是当前发展的趋势，都显示出其外在条件臻于成熟。因此，土司学的产生有其必然性，而专门领域研究的需要，多学科共同研究的需要，更突显出构建土司学的必要性。

Abstract: There are connections and differences among the study of Tusi,Tusi system and Tusi culture.The study of Tusi is a specialized study on the practice of Tusi system.Whether a research field could be called a study or not depends on its internal factors and external conditions.Being important,unique,extensive and realistic in its research object,the research of Tusi has a profound foundation to form a study.The status of Tusi research,whether in terms of research history or development tendency,has shown mature external conditions.Therefore,the study of Tusi will appear inevitably,which calls for a specialized study and multidisciplinary participation.
