Abstract: Chinese ancient novels attempted to describe Characters’ temperament of stubbornly-biasedness in light of the background of traditional culture,from the pointing view of mutual promotion & restraints between the five elements of metal,wood,water,fire and earth. We can also have Chinese ancient novels such as “Three Kingdoms” and “ A Journey to the West” classified into the above five kinds:the arrogant belongs to metal,honest & straight forward to wood,the gentle and tender to water,the irascible & irritable to fire and generous & rich to earth.And from the speed of temper change,they are classified into so called pace of slow and fast which are expressed by means of people’s talk and manner.Also from the range of mood,they can be sorted in the frame of arrogance & impetuous into characters of being unruly or restraint.In short,such changing law is generally of the temperament range of our traditional culture and the society can also be mirrored in it.
