Abstract: Structure of feeling is Raymond Williams’ core concept,referring to the contemporary,realistic,constantly changing,social or individual common experience possessing certain constructing meaning.It is characterized by totality,ambiguity,subjectivity and construction.Each generation responds to the inherited unique world in its own way and molds its creative reaction into a new structure of feeling.In fact,structure of feeling of one period is the culture of this period.Structure of feeling is the key word of Raymond Williams’ cultural materialism,which is significant to comprehend and evaluate Raymond Williams’ cultural philosophy,general culture and cultural philosophy.
