On the Modes of Novelistic Narration Based on Modernist Paintings

Abstract: At the beginning of 20th century,modes of literature narration captured people’s attention.The modernist writers frequently took in the similar items in modernist paintings to carry out their new literary experiments.Virginia Woolf began her experiment of the modes of novelistic narration under the influences of modernist paintings.Her masterpiece To the Lighthouse embodied some characteristics of paintings such as multi-perspective,non-personality and design.These modes of novelistic narration reinforced the aesthetic values in the field of narration,created a kind of brand-new iconic text and developed the art of modernist novels.
