On Female Emancipation Thoughts of Liang Qi-chao

Abstract: Liang Qichao spotlighted the harm of feet binding,and established some groups which aimed to support loosening of the foot-binding.He pounded the view that women couldn’t be taught,and thought that women had the same right as men to be taught.He explained the five drawbacks of early marriage for women,and advocated both late marriages and late childbirth.He favored the western feminism,and advocated feminism by the two steps:initiative and stages.Liang Qichao formed a sketchy outline of female emancipation thoughts which based on the four aspects:loosening of the foot-binding,establishing schools for women,forbidding early marriage,and advocating feminism.
