Abstract: The folk songs,dances,instrumental music,dramas and traditional national music in western Hunan are bound up with its unique ecological environment.From a transverse dimension,the classroom teaching of these music resources will help to develop the value and identity of national cultures for the students,and further improve their comprehensive cultural qualities.From a longitudinal dimension,this teaching mode can help to cultivate students’ appreciation and aesthetics ability of music art,enrich and improve their professional quality in music as well.Thus,the national folk music in western Hunan provides rich musical resources for development and utilization of music curriculum resources.
