On the Traits of Novels of Rhythmical Prose Characterized by Parallelism and Ornateness during the Early Years of Republic of China

Abstract: The novels of rhythmical prose characterized by parallelism and ornateness emerged during the Early Republic of China,which is a special phenomenon in Chinese literature history.It reflects a great transfer of the development of novels from the Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China after the ebb of pursuit of enlightenment.This kind of novels guides the rise of the “School of Mandarin Duck and butterfly”,and embodies the literature needs of modern civil society.On the base of “Love” which was divorced from the circumstances of social politics and reality,this kind of novels formed its own meanings,and indicated the literature language construction of “love story” was once transferred from ancient prose to rhythmical prose characterized by parallelism and ornateness.
