Theory and Practice of Minor's Moral Cultivation in Contemporary Western Countries

Abstract: More attentions are paid to moral cognitive capacity,moral value education,and moral practical ability in minor's moral cultivation in the contemporary western countries.Two new changes have appeared in the principle of moral education:the opposition to instill into students and the avocation to esteem minor’s subjectivity,regarding students as the centre of education.Moral educationalists have innovated series of fruitful methods in moral cultivation,such as moral judgment method,value clarification method,social learning method and story inspiration method.Recessive moral education is emphasized and importance is given to cultivating good moral behavior by means of actual social action and the care education.More cultivation ways,such as volunteers’ service,are being explored.
