The Bordering Wall in the Qing Dynasty and the Development of Miao Territory in Xiangxi

Abstract: The intention of the rulers of the Qing Dynasty in governing the Miao territory was to set up normal administration in the region,that’s why the political significance was more than that of military in building the bordering wall.Under the frame of the bordering wall,social and economic progress was greatly made in Xiangxi(in the west of Hunan Province) and this region gradually mixed itself into the big family of China.In this cultural blending of ethnic groups,China’s cultural territory was formed.
