Abstract: Wang Wei has an unsurpassed position in composing poems into music.His poems are different from those in the early Tang Dynasty in that he composes poems into music at an early stage,and his works are large in number and complete in form and are of high quality.The basic elements and features of his musical poems are characterized by “popular emotion,folk topic,and simple language”.His especial self-knowledge in composing poems into music is based on his understanding of the “special custom,special effect,and special condition of musical poems”.
