Abstract: After the dominant position of the study of Confucian classics was determined in the Western Han Dynasty, writers of Fu (ode) consciously tried to get close to it in their writing, hoping to enhance Fu's political position and function. However, the monarchs,as the main receptors of Fu,expected it as a means of entertainment and demolished this effort consciously or unconsciously, causing the separation of the writers' intention and the monarchs' acceptance. In this sense,we should carefully judge the effect of the study of Confucian classics on Fu in the Western Han Dynasty, especially not exaggerate the effect of it.
