A Preliminary Inquiry into Shi Jingkong’s Thought of Buddha’s Education

Abstract: Master Jingkong’s thought of Buddha’s Education is a creative contemporary explanation of traditional Buddhism at the standpoint of the religion.It has some influence on the modernization of the traditional Buddhism and the contemporary revival of the religion.He named Buddhism as Buddha’s Education for the first time and stressed the content of its cultural education.He made Buddhism conform to contemporary society.His Buddhist thinking not only has the feature of the traditional spirit,but also the characteristic of adaptation and harmony.Master Jingkong’s thought of Buddha ’s Education is a typical example of contemporary Buddhist philosophy,and reveals the trend in the modernization of Buddhism.
