Abstract: Zhou Ji’s poetic ideas are mainly seen in four aspects:the idea of sustenance, the idea of poetic history, the idea of the mixture of the South and North, and the idea of simplicity and honesty. The first three ideas are based on the poetic ideas of Zhang Huiyan, the founder Changzhou poetry school, and are beyond the latter’s ideas. The fourth idea is his own theoretical creation.Zhou Ji has constructed the complete theoretical system of Changzhou poetry school and he is the most important theorist of the school.
