Abstract: This paper,based on the reality of the popularization of higher education in China,points out such problems as administrative power,group benefit,and academic corruption in universities.It illustrates and confirms Abraham Flexnet’s educational principles that a modern university should stick to “ storing knowledge and concept,explaining knowledge and concept,seeking truth,and training the students so as to succeed the cause”,analyzes Flexnet’s criticism on the market-oriented tendency of American universities and the demerits of his university ides,and reveals the enlightenment of Flexnet’s university idea:the value of a university lies in cultivating creative talents,academic criticism,and producing spiritual wealth for the nation.
