Company-model University:An Institutional Innovation Catering to the Demand of Knowledge Economy

Abstract: Company-model university is an institutional innovation catering to the demand of knowledge economy.Its basic tasks are hatching high-tech achievements,developing high-tech products and industrializing high-tech achievements.Its social functions are promoting the combination of science and technology innovation with knowledge application,and hatching and developing high-tech industry.It has special organization characteristics and operation mechanism of its own.When a company-model university is set up in China,the first consideration should be its role position,constructive approach and operation form.
