Abstract: Pre-Qin fables are the pearls of the then prose writings. Each fable has a complete story with vivid plot and striking image. They are the only works that can be regarded as pure literature in Pre-Qin period. They are both attached to and independent from prose, hence producing a dim beauty. However, their symbolist creation method of idea coming before image and image prevailing idea and the combination of form resemblance and spirit remblance gives them a thick veil.Special esthetic media and difference between the media make Pre-Qin fables ever more beautiful and vigorous.
