Abstract: In the past Hundred years,a great amount of academic achievements have been made in material-collection and theoretical study in the field of Chinese folk literature.however,no sufficient induction has been done to its pattern as a whole.Seen from the perpective of an organic whole, the individual folk literatures as symbol of chinese civilization have three major characteristics of multisource co-origination,mutual penetration and mutual complementarity in the historical exchange, and comformitive blending in the course of national unification.
Key words: Chinese folk literature, multisource coorigination, conformitive blending, multielemental organic whole
