Abstract: Unselfishness and altruism is the highest and ocassional principle of being good,which should only (and can only) guide the ocassional behavior of any individual.Its signigficance is manifested in the individuals'displaying altuistic and self-sacrificing spirit when personal benefit is at conflict with that of society or other fellow beings. To benefit oneself and others at once is the fundamental and perpetual principle of being good,which should and can guide the perpetual conducts of individuals. Its significcance is manifested in the individuals' displaying self-benefiting and altruistic spirit when personal benefit is in conformity with that of society or other fellow beings.To merely benefit oneself is the lowest and ocassional principle of being good, which should only and can only, guide the ocassional behavior of the individuals.Its significanec is manifested in the individuals' displaying mere self-benefiting and non-self-harming spirit when personal benefit is not at direct conflict with that of society or other fellow beings.
