On the Witchcraft Culture of Western Hunan and the Tujia People's Wushu in the Border Area of Hunan, Hubei, Chongqing and Guizhou

Abstract: Being an important part of the Chinese wushu, the Tujia people's wushu is a precious cultural heritage of theTujia nationality. With a long history and a solid mass foundat ion , it displays many social functions. From its first appearance, the Tujia people's wushu was absorbed in the colorful witchcraft culture of Western Hunan, which was used to make a bridge between men and god and to drive away evil spirits. This paper tries to probe the relat ionship between the withchcraft culture and the Tujia people's Wushu from the perspective of sociological culture.
