New Thinking of Subject Evaluation Reform in the New Era(Conversation by Writing)

Abstract: Speeding up the establishment of a world-level discipline evaluation system with Chinese characteristics is an important booster to improve the discipline construction and the quality of personnel training in our country.At a time when the fifth round of discipline evaluation is about to begin,discipline evaluation should give more prominence to its diagnostic function,break through the triple constraints of single evaluation criteria,emphasis on academic orientation and aggravating Matthew effect,and lead the development of characteristic disciplines in colleges and universities,especially local colleges and universities.The quantitative,behaviorist and administrative tendency of discipline evaluation in the construction of teaching staff should be changed so that it could guide the discipline evaluation in the new era to better serve the construction of teaching staff in colleges and universities.We should seek the integration of the tool value of discipline evaluation and the rational value,take care of the subject needs of disciplines at different stages of development,and build a harmonious and symbiotic discipline evaluation ecosystem.We should focus on the fundamental task of educating people through morality,and highlight the mission and responsibility of undergraduate education in discipline evaluation in the new era.With more fine classification,democratic participation,scientific value judgment,and reasonable evaluation criteria in discipline evaluation,we should give full play to the guidance to the discipline development of colleges and universities,especially colleges and universities in the western regions.
