Abstract: The "force field" formed by the tension of modernization and the anxiety of modernity constitutes MaoZedong's problem consciousness of theoretical thinking and practical exploration.And how to construct a modernity program in line with China's reality so as to avoid the disadvantages of western modernity has become the core issue that Mao Zedong has always paid close attention to.To deepen the research on Mao Zedong's modernity thought,we should grasp the overall historical clue of the development of the history of thought,that is,we should proceed from the dual perspective of the grand background of China's modern historical development and the micro-historical process of socialism in China (from traditional socialism to socialism with Chinese characteristics),comprehensively analyze Mao Zedong's modernity thought,and make a basic ideological history orientation.The fluidity,as the essential characteristic of modernity,fundamentally determines that Mao Zedong's thought of modernity is constantly echoed in different historical situations,and it influences the construction of contemporary Chinese modernity program in explicit or implicit forms.
