Abstract: Starting from dynamic and static perspectives and using modified DEA model and Malmquist index, this paper analyzes the relative efficiency of China’s tourism listed companies during 2007—2013.The results show that as a whole, the relative efficiency is low,the pure technical efficiency is the main inducement, most of the enterprises are in the decreasing return to scale, and that this is the result of the extensive growth. However, the Total Factor Productivity (TFP) presents an increasing tendency, because technical progress is the major driving force. For companies of different types, relative efficiency of the comprehensive types is better than those of hotel and scenic spot. The change of overall efficiency is more influenced by important events, and the overall efficiency of companies of hotel and scenic spot types is weaker to recover.TFP varies more greatly and is more sensitive to the change of technical progress. While the TFP of 12 companies shows an increasing tendency, that of eight companies shows a decreasing one.By building production frontier competition state model,it is found that companies of comprehensive type belong to the frontier type, and those of hotel type and scenic spot type belong to the frontier type, stable type, catching type, and lagging type.
