Abstract: Translation distortion is often viewed in the field of translation as something disgraceful as it means unfaithful to the original works. However,translation distortion exists very commonly as a result of different concerning factors in the translation process which involves complicated cognitive activities. In this process translators experience different extents of mental transfigurations as well as cognitive defects,hence unavoidably cause translation distortions. Nevertheless,translation distortions have both advantages and disadvantages,thus it can’t be simply viewed as something disgraceful.
