Abstract: Starting in the 1950s,Chinese university journals have their own unique system design,the late 1970s to the late 1980s being an important period of its final formation and gradual solidification.In addition to the same system of examination and approval of general journals and being hosted by supervisors,this system also has a series of unique regulations for university journals.Thanks to them,the university journals are comprehensive and closed,characterized by "one university,one journal",widely recognized by the academic press for a long time.Bound by themselves and willing to be a "window" or a "garden",the university journals are gradually drifting away from the open public platform.The great expansion of the journals caused by an accidental factor in the late 1990s has made the "system disease" obvious.At the beginning of the new century,the management department and the academic press have begun to reflect on the university journal system.The Famous Journal Project of the Ministry of Education has begun a difficult journey of "breaking the cocoon",but the reform of the newspaper system,which has been placed with great hope,has not made substantial progress in colleges and universities.Since 2014,the top-level design of media integration has injected new hope for the university journals to get out of the difficulty of the system,but it is not easy to break the cocoon of the system,and it is even more difficult to break the cocoon of the heart.So,there is still a long way to go before the university journals can realize their transformation from cocoon to nirvana.
