For Selected: Download Citations EndNote Ris BibTeX Toggle Thumbnails Select Reconstruction of the Value Connotation of Public Interest by Digital Capitalism in the Field of Digital Health Written by Tamar Sharon, Translated by ZHao Kaikai Journal of Jishou University(Social Sciences Edition)    2023, 44 (1): 17-25.   DOI: 10.13438/j.cnki.jdxb.2023.01.003 Abstract （416）      PDF（pc） （742KB）（136）       Knowledge map    Save In recent years,all major consumer technology corporations have moved into the domain of health research.This‘Googlization of health research’ (‘GHR’) begs the question of how the common good will be served in this research.As critical data scholars contend,such phenomena must be situated within the political economy of digital capitalism in order to foreground the question of public interest and the common good.Here,trends like GHR are framed within a double,incommensurable logic,where private gain and economic value are pitted against public good and societal value.While helpful for highlighting the exploitative potential of digital capitalism,this framing is limiting,insofar as it acknowledges only one conception of the common good.This article uses the analytical framework of modes of justification developed by Boltanksi and The venot to identify a plurality of orders of worth and conceptualizations of the common good at work in GHR.Not just the ‘civic’ (doing good for society) and ‘market’ (enhancing wealth creation) orders,but also an ‘industrial’ (increasing efficiency),a ‘project’ (innovation and experimentation),and what I call a ‘vitalist’ (proliferating life) order.Using promotional material of GHR initiatives and preliminary interviews with participants in GHR projects,I ask what moral orientations guide different actors in GHR.Engaging seriously with these different conceptions of the common good is paramount.First,in order to critically evaluate them and explicate what is at stake in the move towards GHR,and ultimately,in order to develop viable governance solutions that ensure strong ‘civic’ components. Related Articles | Metrics | Comments（0） Select The Ethical Dimensions of Responsibility in Public Health ZHU Hailin Journal of Jishou University(Social Sciences Edition)    2023, 44 (1): 26-32.   DOI: 10.13438/j.cnki.jdxb.2023.01.004 Abstract （665）      PDF（pc） （674KB）（137）       Knowledge map    Save Responsibility ethics is the essence and core category of public health ethics.Role responsibility consciousness,overall responsibility thinking and moral self-discipline are not only the basic elements and essential characteristics of responsibility ethics,but also the meaning and important attributes of public health ethics.The subjects of public health moral responsibility include public health professionals and all relevant persons inside and outside public health activities such as the government,media,enterprises and individual citizens.The former bears the professional responsibility of public health,while the latter shares the common responsibility with public health professionals.The content of public health moral responsibility includes retrospective responsibility and forward-looking responsibility,the former is to investigate the negligence of public health subjects,and the latter is a preventive responsibility for the risk of public health activities and oriented to future behavior.The limit of moral responsibility of public health shows a trend of extending from "limited liability" to "unlimited liability",the former being the role responsibility of the subject in public health activities,while the latter being the universal social responsibility responsible for the whole society and human health.
