Abstract: The specific living space in Wuling mountainous areas has molded an ecology cognition system of the Tujia Nationality,which is restricted both by river and mountain.Based on the cognition and belief on environment in the process of working,and focusing on environment maintenance and proper exploitation,this cognition system takes concrete cultural phenomenon as its expression form.This paper takes Suzhou village in Longsha County (in the west of Hunan Province) as a case study,and explores the value of traditional ecological knowledge in the application of modern society.
