Abstract: “Subject positions” is a core issue of identity politics.Replacing ‘subject’ with ‘subject positions’ is an important issue of the structuralist and post-structuralist philosophy.Foucault's subject positions theory provides two points:First,to reveal the mechanism of the power of discourse which constructs subject positions;Second,anti-essentialism of identity politics concept.Post-colonialism,feminism,post-Marxism and other schools practiced the two lines.Among them, the ‘disidentification’ has become a new trend of development. The article concluded that identity politics should absorb the traditional Marxist political economic thoughts, not only to pay attention to people in the discourse systems, meaning systems, but also concerned about their positions in the economic system and the state politics system.

Key words: subject positions, politics of identity, Foucault
